Fox Creek Stone Bridge--Chase County

Location:  From the Jct. of US Hwy 50 and US Hwy 177 just west of Strong City, 1/4 mile North to the St. Anthony Cemetery.  Go East 1/2 mile on gravel to bridge.

Nearest Town:  Strong City, also near to Tall Grass National Preserve

This single arch stone bridge crosses Fox Creek just north of Strong City.  Though stone bridges were once numerous in Chase County, this small bridge is one of only three which remain standing today.  The detail of the stone work in this bridge is amazing.  If you look closely, you can see that the stones which make up the arch itself were cut to fit exactly.
