Nestled in the scenic Flint Hills of Pottawatomie County on a tributary of Vermilion Creek, a simple single arch stone bridge carries the occasional vehicle on this lightly traveled road. The bridge, literally in the shadow of the Jeffrey Energy Center coal-fired power plant, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Unsightly graffiti defaces an otherwise rustic stone arch bridge. It's a shame that a just few folks can selfishly spoil the view for everyone else. Though the vandals efforts could easily be removed digitally, unfortunately their "art work" is now a part of the bridge, and removing it with the computer just doesn't seem honest somehow.

Pottawatomie County has built an observation walkway that leads to a better view of the stone arch bridge. Ironically, it was probably this walkway which drew the vandal's attention to the bridge, and provided easy access for them to deface the bridge.
